Erratic Weather...

some of u may know about my booboo packing story plus slippers on flight... but it turned out to b a blessing in disguise anyway..the austin weather is super erratic.. on Thursday nite, was casually browsing tv channels and saw news on severe storm & tornado warnings in Texas.. the heat map they used was really cool.. like the ones we saw on tv in taiwan during my last holiday.. it was then i experienced my first ever typhoon.. and the fact that we went out to buy dinner (mac's) just b4 the typhoon hit.. strong winds which almost blew me and my evil twin away.. plus skinny thinmonkey... of coz my quack quack was safe.. keke..

i'm drifting from my point again.. back to austin.. yes, in the day time, the weather is so bloody hell hot outside.. the sun at 4+ is like sg's 12 pm sun.. kaoz.. no wonder my frens need super a lot of sunblock.. n they got freckles.. then at night.. with the thunderstorm warning.. it actually said that in 15 mins, the severe thunderstorm would be hitting downtown austin.. which means like some 20 mins drive from where i was.. n the winds were traveling @ 70 to 80 miles per hour.. so being the KPO me.. i went to peep at my window.. OH GOSH!! the damn rain was sooo heavy!!! n the trees were swaying from side to side.. i took some pics, opened my window & muted my tv.. heard the intimidating howling of the winds.. geez.. i was hoping it would carry on so friday i dont have to work.. hahahahaa.... that didnt happen of course! it kinda went through the night and all was calm... n freaking hot again the next day.. =( ...egg was just telling me last weekend that in the US, its always impt to check the weather b4 u head out.. well of coz we dont appreciate our weather service in sg since its almost always the same forecast everyday.. here they gave like %...like today 40% chance of rain, scattered thunderstorm etc... n mostly pretty accurate...

TGIF was good.. i was arrowed to do the Status Presentation for my audit for this week.. oh man.. i was a little nervous coz at 11am, which the meeting was suppose to start, nobody dialled in.. oh i was so afraid that my dept admin did not set up enough dial in lines.. well.. luckily pp started calling in a few mins later.. man.. i made this mistake in my presentation slides.. that was kinda bad.. but luckily my manager, Jeff was saying that its ok and normal coz things like this do happen.. **phew**.. we had a one on one later that day and he was very satisfied with my performance so far.. well.. i sure hope it is reflected in my perf eval form.. not just in speech.. coz my boss actually likes the mgrs to put us as Needs Developments (ND) in most areas!! which we couldnt figure out.. especially when i have one from a mgr that ranked me as ND, but ALL her comments in my eval is good n excellent.. piang!! how does that work??? i would greatly appreciate if someone tells me how i can improve my work or attitude..

most of our auditees went for the CFO's retreat @ a golf course so lots of pp not in man.. we left office about 330.. we had planned to catch MI3, which opens on Friday.. (ya, their opening is on fri, unlike ours which is on thurs).. apparently, the place we were suppose to go, which is Alamo Drafthouse, screens movies and u can have a full dinner & beer etc altogether... i'm sure it'd be a nice experience BUT the tics were sold out!! on hindsight, we should have booked b4 we left office.. so change of plans.. we had dinner at a Texan BBQ place... oh they actually spell it as Bar-B-Q or something lidat here.. not fantastic food but reasonably priced lor.. then we went to play pool at Slick Willies.. haha.. the name sounds sleazy hor.. me n ah lui paired up.. so guys v gals.. GALS WON!!!! ah lui is pretty shen at pool i would say.. n jeff was complaining cum coaching all the time.. so funny!! we all had a good laff... esp the last shot from hishaam.. his last solid ball was kissed together with the black.. whilst we had to strive for the black coz we got all our stripes in.. he was of coz supposed to hit the solid but instead, he sent the black ball into the pot!! hahaha.. so we won! oh man.. thats like super funny.. laughed till we were tearing & having tummy ache.. n jeff was like.. oh man.. complaining about his partner again... hahahaha..

later today we are driving to san antonio for dinner.. nice riverwalk dining as recommended by Zing and the resident houstonians.. will update u guys again!!

PS: My Aljunied is PAP again... i still dun understand why my address says hougang but my GRC is aljunied... chim-inology plus strategies.. PAP got 82 out of 84 seats.. brrrrrrrrr
