Cold cold Germany...

Its been exactly a week since i arrived in Dresden.. Cold chilly weather... luckily, its sunny everyday... if not it will be totally totally sad...

Yesterday, my colleagues & I drove to Berlin... the capital of Germany.. its suppose to be a 2+ hrs drive from Dresden.. My colleague was driving on the world famous autobahn at an average of 180km/h!!!! Top speed recorded was 200km/h!! We were practically FLYING!!! whew!! its the fastest I have ever been in any vehicle man.. except for aeroplane ok .. anyway ya so we thought it was easy to get to Berlin, just by following the expressway signs.. No map needed.. About 2 hours later.. we came to this thing that looked like a toll gate... BUT, there were uniformed guys standing there... n 3 flags at the road side.. so we were like.. "WOW! High security to get to Berlin man.. must be becoz of the new chancellor, Angela Merkel being elected... " Then we started to make out what flags those are.. a black, red and yellow flag..thats a German flag alrite.. ok 2nd flag... green colour base, with a circle of stars.. hmm.. thats an EU flag.. last one..its RED & WHITE! oops.. POLAND!!! yes yes.. we are at the border of Poland & Germany.. hahaha... there were 4 of us in the car, with only 1 US passport...so ya.. we cant really enter Poland even if we wanted to... the guards were kind enuff to let us do a U-turn to head to Berlin...

Moral of the story: You shld see the roadsigns showing the destination once in a while along the way..if not, u r heading the wrong way! ;P

It took us another 2 hours to get from the Poland borders to Berlin.. the capital was similar to Dresden.. just that it has a few more shopping malls along the way.. Also, we learnt that Zentrum, means central in German... so if you want to be in the heart of the city, find Zentrum!
